Submitted by Cristina Carroccio Sears

This is one of my favorites! The recipe is from Jose Andres Tapas book. He owns Jaleo in Washington, DC and in Bethesda, and other restaurants in DC, Maryland, and Virginia

Ingredients

1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil
6 garlic cloves, peeled and thinly sliced
20 large shrimp peeled and deveined
1 guindilla chili pepper, or crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp. of brandy
1 tsp. of chopped parsley
Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Heat oil over medium high flame

  2. Add garlic and sauté for about 2 minutes

  3. Add shrimp and chili pepper, and cook for 2 minutes

  4. Turn shrimp over and cook for another 2 minutes

  5. Add brandy and cook for an additional minute

  6. Sprinkle with parsley, add salt to taste, and serve
