Czechoslovakian Cakes

Elegant little cakes, nice to serve at teas and showers.

 

Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
2 cups of flour
1 cup of walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup of raspberry jam
Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat Cream butter, and gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy

  2. Add egg yolks, blend well

  3. Add flour and mix thoroughly, then fold in nuts

  4. Spread evenly 1/3 batter into 8 inch greased cake pan

  5. Top with jam

  6. Cover with remaining butter

  7. Bake 1 hour or until golden, then cool

  8. Cut into small squares and roll in powdered sugar
