Hot Shoppe's Teen Twist

Andrea and mother knew my favorite sandwich has always been Hot Shoppe’s Teen Twist. So, when they saw the restaurant’s cookbook for sale, they decided I should have it. I am forever grateful. The inscription inside the book reads: Cris, So glad we could be here to celebrate with you and your family. Lots of love, The Fleury’s. Happy birthday.

Ingredients

4 oz. of ham, thinly sliced
1 slice of American cheese cut in half
2 slices of tomato
Shredded lettuce
1 tbsp. of tarter sauce
Butter
Twist roll, sliced lengthwise

Directions

1. Spread both sides of roll with butter

2. Place two halves of American cheese on bottom half of roll, covering it

3. Place thin slices of ham on top of cheese

4. Place sandwich on grill with ham touching surface of the grill

5. Place top half of roll on grill

6. Heat until ham is hot

7. Remove from heat and top ham with two slices of tomato

8. Cover with shredded lettuce

9. Spread 1 tbsp. of tarter sauce on top of grilled roll and place on top of sandwich

10. Is desired, cut in half and serve
