Japanese Cabbage Salad

Ingredients for salad

1 package of shredded cabbage
6 green onions chopped
1/4 cup of sliced almonds
1/2 cup of sesame seeds
1 package of Ramen noodles (any flavor)

Ingredients for Dressing

1/2 cup of canola oil
1/3 tsp. of sesame oil
1 tbsp. of soy sauce
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of rice vinegar
1/4 tsp. of salt and pepper

Directions

  1. In a small skillet, toast until golden brown the sesame seeds, the almonds, and crushed up Ramen noodles, stirring continuously as they burn easily. Set aside

  2. Shake together the dressing ingredients until the sugar looks dissolved

  3. Combine cabbage and onions

  4. Just prior to serving, pour the dressing over and toss the salad very well

  5. At the last minute, add the almonds, sesame seeds, and toasted crushed Ramen noodles and toss
