Betty Brennan's Cocktail Meatballs

Mom was always asked to bring these to parties and pot luck luncheons!

 

Ingredients:

1 lb. of ground beef
1/2 cup of dry bread crumbs
1/3 cup of minced onions
1/4 cup of milk
1 egg
1 tbsp. of snipped parsley
1 tsp. of salt
1/8 tsp. of pepper
1/2 tsp. of Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup of shortening
12 oz. bottle of chili sauce
10 oz. jar of grape jelly

Directions

  1. Mix beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce

  2. Shape into 1 inch balls and brown in shortening

  3. Remove from pan and pour off fat

  4. Heat chili sauce and jelly, stirring constantly until jelly is melted

  5. Add meatballs and stir until coated

  6. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes
